The Art of Layering

I have been observing Parisians these days and they are masterfully combining leather jackets or puffer jackets under their coats, which has become one of my favorite ways to style a coat too, but there are so many other ways to layer during these cold days.

Designers such as Lemaire, Paco Rabanne and Acne Studios had, on their runways, very inspiring and chic ideas, and Balenciaga proposed not one, but several coats and street style outfits, providing some very good inspiration to learn from.

All you need to do is be authentic and choose wisely without making yourself feel uncomfortable. I've gathered some favourite layering outfits for this arctic cold that has submerged the city and also wanted to share a few styling tips that work well with layering:

• Layer patterned prints with minimal styles

• Layer a thick coat over a thinner one

• Layer a leather jacket with a puffer jacket

• Layer denim jackets with ... everything

• Layer heavier and softer textures together such as wool, silk, cotton, leather
