Finding your personal style it’s a journey

How do you find your personal style in society that creates trends that are unwearable for certain body types, lifestyles or life ethics?

Neon trend, corsets, tye dye, baby doll dresses these are just a few of this spring’s trends.  Trends like this in some cities of the world may create some stir, men still to this date have a stronger voice than women especially when it’s about fashion. If it’s too tight or short you are provoking, if you wear loose or oversized you are lacking confidence, you want to hide or you are too masculine...I have heard this way too many times and I got familiar with it...but never experienced it until I got outside of the fashion world, fashion cities etc.

Take Paris for example...It has been my home for almost ten years now. Paris is paradise for fashion. It’s the city where you can wear whatever you fell like and not feeling judged, it’s a city that encourages art and creativity, uniqueness, where you can be whoever you want to be and be at peace. But we can’t all be living in Paris…Milan or New York.

With influencers and young content creators are setting the stylistic tone for the season is hard to keep up with trends and fashion and in the same time to adapt everything to your body, lifestyle and work life. I hear women getting lost in the myriad of choices and voices out there and it’s only normal. We hear better the ones that are shouting louder, and trends are always louder than style.

If you like super minis skirts or sheer tops, cut-out dresses, underwear as tops but you lack the confidence or the environment to wear them, there are ways of layering your outfit in order to feel trendy if that is what you are after, or feel confident, stylish and modern. It’s a daily exercice. It takes time. It may take many shopping session where you try and try until you find what fits you best.

The best part about this new season is the versatility of the pieces and the choice of layering that could help you get through with your stylings. There are many ways of including trends in your personal style and still be you wearing the trend and not the trends wearing you, still go outside and not feel the pression of the starring eyes or loud voices that are judging you. We cannot change the way the society is for now, but you can be the most wonderful version stylish of yourself
